Enterprising Action
Groundswell is holding an Enterprising Action event in Bristol, which
is designed to inspire and support people with experience of
homelessness who are trying to set up their own projects - eg service
user groups, businesses or any kind of enterprise. Groundswell is a
national charity that supports homeless people to be involved in
creating solutions to homelessness. See www.groundswell.org.uk
for more info.
| Venue: | @ Bristol |
| Date: | Thursday 12 October |
| Time: | 10 am - 2 pm |
The event includes talks from homeless people who have gone on to
create
successful enterprises, and will also introduce people to opportunities
which can help make people's ideas a reality - such as Groundswell's own
Grant Award Scheme, Unlimited (another grant maker), Avon CSV and City
of Bristol College Business Suppport Team.
New Street Centre

informed and reminded of the closure over the last few days.
The Centre will be open as normal every other day of the week.

8 pm) - outside these times, you can leave a message. The rapid response
clean up team will collect from anywhere in the open air, which includes

The Hub Opening Hours
A letter from Rob Risdale, the Hub Manager:
As you may be aware, the focus at the Hub has changed to one of
increased homelessness prevention and we are aiming towards becoming
more actively involved in working to forestall occurrences of
homelessness wherever possible, rather than reacting to problems
presented by clients who have already become homeless.
Consequently, it has been decided that, from the week commencing
Monday 21 June, there will be a pilot for three months whereby the Hub
will be closing each day at 3:30 pm rather than 4:00 pm. This is to
enable more preventative work to be carried out, particularly home
visits.
Thus, the Hub's opening hours will be:
| Monday: |
10:00 am to 3:30 pm |
| Tuesday: |
10:00 am to 3:30 pm |
| Wednesday: |
12:00 noon to 3:30 pm |
| Thursday: |
10:00 am to 3:30 pm |
| Friday: |
10:00 am to 3:30 pm |
