Invitation to Global Issues Forum, 7 September

Please could you make sure you have the above date in your diary and send Roger Allen any items you have for 7th Sept agenda, by 23rd August: at the moments the theme is Persecuted Christians, an update on Trade justice lobby (26th Sept) and publicity for other events in the next few months... he will send out a final agenda in the last week of August.

During the forum, we will look at events in the lead up to Christmas(!):

1. Fairtrade Fairs (such as at Cairns Road Baptist).
2. Harvest for the Hungry, Blythswood Care's appeal and any other collections (Kingsway Project) for Eastern Europe. Please come and tell us all about them, or any other Autumn events you are planning.

We are focusing on Persecuted Christians, (in the lead up to the Sunday for Persecuted Christians in mid November) with a visiting speaker (Clare Myring) from Release International. Ali Hull will also update us on the work of Jubilee Action. Do say if you want to update us briefly on the work of other organisations, such as Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Open Doors, or Barnabus Trust.

In addition we will have an update on the Trade Justice Movement's lobby of the Labour Party Conference on Sept 26 (see separate email for coach details).
