Meetings

6 July 2006 "I Have This Dream" (Cancelled)

The meeting we had planned for 6 July 2006 ("I Have This Dream" - Taking a Church-based project from dream to reality: learning from the experience of Caroline Virgo and others) has been cancelled. Much of the content will be presented at the joint event with Hope's Place in November.

21 & 22 November 2006 "Searching for Intimacy"

Organised jointly with Hope's Place, on Tuesday 21 November (evening) at Christ Church, Clifton, and Wednesday 22 November (all day) at Woodlands Christian Centre.

The conference is open to anyone with an interest in pastoral care; Elaine Storkey will be speaking. Everyone is welcome to join us on Tuesday evening, 21 November, but if you wish to attend on Wednesday 22 then please register.

Elaine Storkey will be speaking about pastoral care, with specific reference to pastoral issues which relate to sex and pregnancy. This conference is for anyone with an interest in or involvement with pastoral care.

What do we mean by "Searching for Intimacy"...? Our culture does not value, or teach the skills for, true intimacy. There are many substitutes for the real thing, of which recreational sex is one. This conference will be looking at how our churches are to address this reality in our society today, and how we can provide relevant and effective pastoral care in this area in order to lead our congregations closer to Jesus.

The cost is £20 for Wednesday 22, which includes lunch. A collection will be taken on Tuesday 21.

To register for Wednesdy 22, either email hopesplace@blueyonder.co.uk or send a cheque for £20 (payable to Hope's Place) to 21 Stoke Hill, Stoke Bishop, Bristol BS9 1JN.
