Act Justly 2 Conference Invitation

Dear All,

This is your invitation to the Act Justly 2 MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY conference, 25 March 2006.

You are warmly invited to join people from Evangelical, Pentecostal and Charismatic (EPC) churches, as well as other Christian Aid supporters for all, or part, of the Act Justly 2 MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY conference on Saturday 25 March 2006, at Wesley College, Bristol.

Please fill in and send back the enclosed flyer as soon as possible.

Do photocopy the flyer and invite others in your church, or else ask me for more copies and for a poster.

Keynote speakers will be Rt. Rev Mike Hill, Bishop of Bristol and Dr. Daleep Mukarji, Director of Christian Aid. The conference starts at 10.30 am, with keynote speeches in the morning, lunch at 12.30 (please say if you want to eat in the college canteen) and workshops in the afternoon, finishing at 3.30pm. In the keynote speeches, Bishop Mike will explain the situation in Uganda, especially the conflict in the North and work by Christian Aid partners to tackle HIV/AIDS. Daleep Mukarji will feedback on MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY and Christian Aid's work, especially with EPCs.

The workshops will explore in more depth the issues of MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY covered by the popular Act Justly resources (booklet enclosed), using Uganda as a case study. The topics covered will be HIV / AIDS, Drop the Debt and feedback on MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY, especially fair trade and Trade Justice. In addition, there will be a workshop on the conflict in northern Uganda and one on climate change. People will be able to attend two workshops.

Looking forward to seeing you on 25 March!

Yours in Christ

Roger Allen
